2024 National Disaster Resilience Conference: Resilience Reimagined - Call for Abstracts
Federal Alliance for Safe Homes (FLASH)
The nonprofit Federal Alliance for Safe Homes (FLASH) seeks presenter abstracts for its premier conference, the National Disaster Resilience Conference (NDRC24). The planning committee is pleased to announce NDRC24 will take place in Clearwater Beach, FL, from November 20 through 22, 2024. The abstract submission deadline is Monday, April 29, 2024.
NDRC24 will feature keynote presentations, discussion panels, spotlight topics, and stories of resilience that will help create more resilient buildings and disaster-resilient communities in the face of earthquakes, floods, hail, hurricanes, lightning, tornadoes, wildfires, and other natural hazards.
Presentations are sought in the following principal focus areas:
1. Innovation in Science and Engineering: Contributions supporting preparedness, response, recovery, or mitigation.
2. Policy: Insights driving resilience through robust building codes, smart finance, marketplace incentive programs, tax benefits, or innovative approaches.
3. Practice: Collaboration among advocates, officials, communicators, emergency managers, insurance professionals, journalists, leaders, merchants, meteorologists, manufacturers, public officials, researchers, and scientists.
4. Stories of Resilience: Showcasing the cause of disaster safety through human resilience and recovery in real-life case studies.
Your submission should include a response to the following question:
- How can NDRC24 attendees and the disaster safety and resilience stakeholder community engage in and/or benefit from your work to advance resilience?
