FTA 2025 Call for Proposals

Financial Therapy Association

The FTA is excited to announce the call for presentations for our 2025 Annual Conference, which will be held June 9-11, 2025 in Athens, Georgia at the Classic Center. Please read on for more details pertaining to FTAC25 and how to submit a presentation proposal!

Our Conference Theme: Financial Therapy “U”: Belong. Learn. Become.

The Financial Therapy Association Annual Conference is going back to school in 2025! We are thrilled to once again be hosting FTAC25 at a university location. The decision to do so not only acknowledges FTA’s academic beginnings, but also celebrates the continued flourishing of our profession and how it is fostered across key universities and institutions. Our Financial Therapy “U” theme also centers us on you, our valued attendees, and supporting your process of learning and becoming. Therefore, at the forefront will be content that emphasizes the application of financial therapy for both experienced professionals and newer learners, all of whom recognize the impact that financial therapy has in our world today.

Our Conference Goals: Belong: We hope to foster community by offering inclusive spaces that embrace our individual and collective uniqueness, diversity, and our identities as financial therapists. Learn: We seek to promote learning by offering exclusive content that enhances the work you do in financial therapy. Become: We aim to facilitate opportunities and outlets for becoming connected, supported, and skillful as financial therapists.

Who Should Submit: Persons interested in the cognitive, emotional, behavioral, relational, economic, and integrative aspects of money. Mental health and financial professionals, academics, scholars, and students in the practice, research, or in scholarly pursuit of financial therapy and financial therapy-related topics. All topics related to financial therapy are welcome.

FTA recognizes that economic disparity and systemic racism, prevalent in our society, are barriers to achieving mental and financial well-being. FTA is committed to minimizing these barriers through advancing diversity and equity in our practice with clients/patients, research, and within our organization. We welcome and invite all people regardless of race, religion, culture, socioeconomic status, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and disability to participate, speak, or attend this year’s conference.

Conference Format: New to the FTAC experience this year will be pathways meant to enhance attendee learning goals and skill development. Attendees will be invited to pursue two distinct, but flexible conference pathways: a discovery path to support those new to financial therapy with foundational knowledge and skills & an advancement path to support those interested in furthering their knowledge and application of financial therapy. The pathways are designed to be suggestive, and attendees can still feel free to pursue the sessions and experiences that best align with their needs.
