2025 - AGC Call for Proposals
Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America
AGC’s Annual Convention Call for Presentations is Now Open! Deadline Extended - August 23rd
The Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America is currently accepting proposals from speakers for our 2025 Annual Convention, taking place April 8 – 10 in Columbus, Ohio. This premiere event is designed for industry leaders and professionals at various career stages from construction companies of all sizes to engage in collaborative learning, networking with peers nationwide, and discovering the latest in technology and innovation in the industry.
We are seeking dynamic educational sessions that encourage opportunities for attendee interaction in open audience discussion, hands-on activities, and group work. We welcome a broad array of topics for consideration, aiming to resonate with, inspire, and stimulate meaningful dialogue among our key participant groups:
- C-suite leaders and executives
- Mid-career professionals
- Aspiring construction professionals (students, recent graduates, etc.)
To create specialized educational tracks for each audience, we will favor proposals that address the unique challenges and opportunities related to each demographic. Topics may encompass a broad range of areas, such as:
- Job site productivity
- Innovation and technology, including the application of A.I in construction
- Financial management
- Business development
- Addressing workforce challenges and solutions
- Promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Risk management
- Safety and health
- Environmental and sustainability initiatives
- Construction law
- Insights into construction markets (building, highway and transportation, utilities, and infrastructure)
- Overcoming small/medium contractor challenges and seizing opportunities
- Navigating general contractor challenges and seizing opportunities
- Specialty contractor challenges and opportunities
For your proposal, consider the following interactive formats to engage your audience:
- Fireside Chat: A conversational session with two speakers, designed to integrate audience participation.
- Roundtable Discussion: An interactive setup with round tables, each facilitated to encourage group dialogue.
- Traditional Conference Breakout: Whether an individual or panel discussion, this format should incorporate interactive elements like polling, word clouds, videos, and Q&A to engage the audience.
Here are some tips for crafting your proposal:
- Session titles should be clear and concise.
- Sessions should be engaging and interactive.
- Offer practical best practices or key takeaways.
- Include at least four learning objectives.
- Sessions are 60 minutes, including Q&A.
- Proposals should include the speaker's brief bio and professional headshot.
- Proposals that include more audience engagement/participation throughout the session will be preferred over those, for example, that are lecture formats with traditional Q-and-A following the lecture.
Please note that presentations should not be sales pitches. For consultants, product, or service suppliers to the construction industry, a contractor must be included as a co-presenter, and the focus should be on broad industry challenges and solutions, using products or solutions as illustrative examples.
The submission deadline has been extended until Friday, August 23, 2024. We look forward to your innovative contributions!
