Call for Student Posters for the NACNS 2025 Annual Conference in Boston, Massachusetts!

Student Poster Submission Opens: August 27, 2024

Deadline for Student Poster Submission: EXTENDED to Sunday, November 10, 2024, 11:59 PM ET!

The National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists’ (NACNS) 2025 Annual Conference will take place at the Boston Marriott Copley Place, March 10-13, 2025.

By submitting an abstract, you agree that, if selected, you will register, attend, and present your poster in person at the conference, as well as provide a PDF file of the poster for online viewing. No scheduling preferences will be accepted or guaranteed by NACNS.

Those interested in submitting an abstract for consideration will be asked to select a topic that addresses the conference's theme, Innovate.

The deadline for Student Poster Abstract Submissions is now Sunday, November 10, 2024, 11:59 PM ET!

Poster Presentations are stand-alone visual displays focusing on one of the topics of interest. One presenter is required to be present during the main poster viewing session to respond to Q&A with conference attendees. Posters are used for works-in-progress or for completed works. The author(s) and affiliations must not be included in the abstract text or title.

Topics of Interest Include:

  • Direct care sphere of impact (sub dropdowns)
    • Advanced physical assessment
    • Diagnostics interpretation
    • Clinical documentation (writing a note, ROS vs PE, HPI vs PMH)
    • Pharmacotherapeutics for a range of acute or chronic diseases and conditions
    • Disseminating patient care outcomes related to CNS intervention.
    • Coding & billing
    • Innovative use of technology and simulation in the clinical space
    • Informing and supporting the new CNS prescriber

 

  • Nursing practice sphere of impact (sub dropdowns)
    • Innovations that entice professional nurses to enroll in CNS programs.
    • Innovations in the student experience
    • Strategies supporting transition to practice.
    • Innovative use of technology and simulation in upskilling the interprofessional team
    • Strategies that support specialty population health-specific outcomes
    • Advancing nursing practice

 

  • Organizational/Systems sphere of impact (sub dropdowns) 
    • Strategies to increase public awareness of CNS practice.
    • Strategies to increase executive interest in employing CNSs.
    • Pursuing full practice authority within organizations through credentialing and privileging
    • Non-traditional CNS Roles
    • Disseminating specialty population health-specific outcomes
    • Disseminating evidence-based practice

Across all spheres of impact abstracts that showcase the following will be given preference:

  • Financial impact of CNS practice

Instructions for the submitter:

Your abstract submission will be peer-reviewed. Each abstract submission will be evaluated based on all the following elements:

*Missing elements will disqualify acceptance of abstract*

  • Relevance to the theme/topics of interest for the conference – Innovation.
  • The title accurately reflects the content of the abstract.
  • Identified learning objectives are aligned with the content of the abstract.
  • Clarity of:
    • Background and significance of the problem/gap identified.
    • Purpose
    • Methodology
    • Outcomes
    • Implications to CNS and/or nursing practice
  • Describe the specific advanced practice nursing competencies employed within the context of the project.
  • References should be no older than 5 years. If older than 5 years, please provide rationale (e.g., there is no new evidence available).
