The Social Marketing Conference welcomes abstracts for podium and poster presentations that demonstrate original work that “integrate(s) marketing concepts with other approaches to influence behaviors that benefit individuals and communities for the greater social good,” (iSMA, 2013). Submissions may fit into one or more conference tracks, described below. The most successful abstracts will describe the formative research, process, and/or outcome evaluation of social marketing work to influence behavior change.

The North American Social Marketing Conference will be held at the Delta Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort, Victoria, BC, Canada

REVIEW 
Sumissions to the conference will be reviewed on an on-going basis, so as soon as your submission is made it will be issued for review and the status of your submission confirmed within three weeks of your submission date. Programme places will be allocated on a first accepted first served basis so we advise getting your abstract in early.

TERMS OF ACCEPTANCE AND ATTENDANCE 

  • Primary Contacts will be notified of the status of their submission. If your submission is accepted, one author must attend the conference (in person or online), pay the registration fee, and present the work. Every session must be represented by a paying registrant. 
  • By submitting a proposal, you understand that any and all registration fees and travel costs are your responsibility.
  • Accepted proposal presenters are expected to, by August 14, 2026:
    • (1) register and pay registration fees, 
    • (2) make your hotel reservations to stay at either the conference hotel or another locaiton in Victoria. You may not know that in return for staying at the venue hotel, our meeting space is at reduced cost to the conference. If we do not fill rooms at the site hotel, the conference may be required to pay attrition costs. Please stay at the conference hotel if you can.
