The Association for Non-Traditional Students in Higher Education (ANTSHE) invites academic professionals, advisors, administrators and nontraditional students/ leaders to submit proposals for presentation at the 2019 conference. Success for the adult learner depends on the foundation for learning, not just from the student’s perspective, but also that of the institution of higher learning. Our theme: Restructuring Higher Education for the Future, Transforming the Traditional College into the Non-Traditional College, suggests that in higher education, the status quo is not adequate any longer for the adult learner. The nontraditional learner brings a host of variable to the table versus that of the traditional aged college student. Therefore, with rising numbers in this growing demographic on college campus and in the virtual platform warrants the table being modified to reflect this change. While higher education goals and objectives can remain the same, the way it is delivered and nurtured needs to be addressed. administrators, faculty, and the students themselves must work together collaboratively for the student and the college to be a success. The metamorphic change needs to be more than the physical structure, it needs to be the psyche of not only the students, but the administrators, the faculty, and all the support staff as well. We have previously discussed how institutions continue to embrace the 18-20-year-old being the typical college student and how statistics have shown that this is not the case. Therefore, the task at hand is to educate not only the non-traditional learner, but the other stakeholders in this equation.

The call for proposals will remain open until February 25, 2019. All proposals will be reviewed and individuals chosen to present will be contacted within 14 days of submission.
