Interface 2025 Call for Proposals

The Interface Teaching Conference provides faculty, staff, TAs, GAs, and post-docs with new strategies for teaching and learning through interactive breakout sessions. This one-day event will feature sessions designed to integrate strategies that promote well-being into your teaching and learning.

- The conference will be held on April 22nd
- There are two options for session types
- Breakout Sessions will be 15, 30, or 50 minutes and include a strategy or idea participants can incorporate in their course(s)
- Poster Session - one singular session that is 30-60 minutes in length that shares your project or research in the area of Research in Teaching and Learning (RiTL) or promoting well-being in teaching and learning
- The conference will be held in person at Emerson Alumni Hall
- All sessions will be face-to-face, no virtual options
Proposals are due by 11:59am EST on 1/8/2025.

Interface 2025 | Cultivating Well-Being in Higher Education: A Holistic Approach to Learning
The University of Florida’s Center for Teaching Excellence invites faculty, staff, and graduate students to submit proposals for a 50-minute session at the 2025 Interface Conference, held in Emerson Alumni Hall on Tuesday, April 22. This year’s theme, "Promoting Well-Being," encourages presenters to share research, insights, and practical applications to foster holistic well-being across the campus community. We welcome proposals that offer innovative strategies, programs, and practices that contribute to student, faculty, and staff well-being in learning environments and support mental, emotional, and social health.
Here are some themes we suggest your proposals follow:
- Mindfulness and Stress Management in Academic Settings: exploring methods to integrate mindfulness into classroom practice and professional life
- Supporting Social Connections and Community Building: featuring strategies for creating inclusive, supportive learning environments that promote meaningful relationships
- Balancing Academic Rigor and Well-Being: offering ways to maintain high academic standards while supporting student and faculty well-being.
- Well-Being in Hybrid and Online Teaching: addressing unique challenges in virtual spaces
- Equitable Practices for Supporting Mental Health: emphasizing approaches for meeting diverse needs in higher education.
- Leveraging AI: Exploring the role of AI in saving time for educators and students, ensuring academic integrity, and acting as an effective tool in educational settings.
