This year's theme is “Connecting Community Culture with Inclusivity, Intersectionality, and Imagination.”

We are accepting proposals for 90-minute workshops centered on racial/ethnic, economic, and social justice that also incorporate the following topics:

  • Leadership Development
  • Forming Coalitions to Solve Community-based Problems
  • Accessing Grants/Funding, Resources, and Networks
  • Meeting Needs of Diverse Members and Students
  • Winning Contracts that Embed Racial, Social, and Economic Justice Language

Prior to submitting your proposal, click here to add yourself to our Facilitator Database.

Strong proposals have a clear description, connect to the conference theme and include the following:

  • practical skills, tools, and techniques that educators can apply to their work.
  • interactive strategies that engage participants in a participatory process using multiple modes of learning.
  • a clear explanation of who the workshop is designed for (skill/grade level, role, everyone).

Other Tips:

  • Use three to six words for your title. The title will bring attention to your description. Make it brief so that it fits well on printing and promotional materials.
  • Refer to the audience as “participants/educators” and ensure that the proposal is participant-centered.
  • Incorporate the knowledge of participants in the learning space. Our members come with varying levels of expertise.
  • Write your proposal as a narrative, not a list of bullet points.
  • Use spellcheck.
  • If copying and pasting your proposal into the form, make sure nothing is missing.
  • Keep within the limit of 150 words.
  • Think of topics that have a broader audience appeal.
