Presentation Format:

  • Please note that the Planning Committee may offer the opportunity to use a format different from what was originally submitted for.
  • The author's name(s) and affiliations must not be in the abstract text or title.
  • Abstract submissions must include a title that reflects the content of the presentation.

Podium (30 minutes) Presenters will have 25 minutes for their presentation, followed by 5 minutes for Q&A. The conference planning committee assigns the accepted podium presentations to breakout sessions with other papers on similar topics. For podium presentations with multiple authors, we ask that only two speakers are selected to present.

Symposium (90 minutes) Symposium abstracts are submitted as a collection of three abstracts. Each individual abstract submission must have an individual abstract title but use the same symposium title. The abstract title should relate to the symposium title. The authors will determine the focus of the symposium (e.g., a standard process applied to different patient populations or settings; a single project with multiple outcomes where each paper focuses on one outcome; a single disease or condition with different approaches for management presented, etc.). Each part will have allotted 25 minutes for presentation, with a total of 15 minutes for Q&A.

Clinical Management (60 minutes): in-depth presentations on managing acute or chronic disease/ health problems, including the pharmacological management of the selected disease/health problem. Presenters will have 45 minutes for their presentation, followed by 15 minutes for Q&A.

Pharmacology (60 minutes) will provide the pharmacotherapeutics around a select disease or condition, including selecting appropriate pharmaceuticals using case studies or exemplars and expected patient outcomes. The presentation should include an in-depth review of a disease(s) or condition(s) and how pharmacotherapeutics are used for evidence-based practice.

For a 60-minute presentation, the presenter will have 45 minutes for their presentation, followed by 15 minutes for Q&A.

Workshop (120 minutes) are in-depth, hands-on, and interactive presentations. The presenters drive the workshop's structure but should include a mix of content presentation, discussion, Q&A, and, if appropriate, demonstrations, learner participation, and/or small group work.

Poster is a stand-alone visual display focusing on one of the topics of interest. One presenter is required to be present during the main poster viewing session for a Q&A with conference attendees. Posters are used for works-in-progress or completed works.

Do you have Questions about how to Submit Your Abstract?

NACNS hosted an opportunity to join a special session with the Planning Committee co-chairs for the NACNS Professional Abstract Submission. This session provided an overview of the submission process, allowing attendees to gain insights and clarity on any uncertainties they may have had. Attendees were given the chance to review Proposal Space, ask questions, and ensure their submissions are on track. If you were unable to join us, that’s okay! Below you can access the session recording as well as the presentation document to follow along with.

Visit the NACNS Conference Website to view the recording and guidelines document.
