2024 Cornea and Eye Banking Forum

Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA) and Cornea Society

The Cornea Society and Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA) are now accepting abstract submissions for the 2024 Cornea and Eye Banking Forum that will be held on Friday, October 18, from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm in Chicago, Illinois.  The Forum highlights the latest research and innovation in cornea and eye banking. The program chairs encourage abstracts highlighting new procedures and therapies; scientific discoveries and innovation in cornea and eye banking; research on the preservation, preparation, processing and transplantation of corneal tissue; and any new data that would be of interest to the cornea and eye banking communities. A Best Paper of Session Award will be awarded to one Medical Student, Resident or Cornea Fellow, for the presentation of their abstract. 

The deadline for submissions is Monday, July 15, 2023. Presenters will be notified end of August of their acceptance into the program.

 

Accreditation Statement

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Amedco LLC, Cornea Society and Eye Bank Association of America.  Amedco LLC is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. This activity has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM.

 

CME Submission Policies

All submissions are subject to the ACCME guidelines regarding validation of clinical content. Presenters/co-authors are responsible for ensuring that (1) all recommendations involving clinical medicine presented are based on evidence that is accepted within the profession and (2) all scientific research referred to, reported, or used conforms to the generally accepted standards of experimental design, data collection, and analysis. Recommendations, treatments, or manners of practicing medicine that do not comply with the above, are known to have risks or dangers that outweigh the benefits, or are known to be ineffective in the treatment of patients should not be submitted or presented.

 

As a provider accredited by the ACCME, Amedco must ensure balance, independence, objectivity, and scientific rigor in all its directly or jointly provided activities. All participating individuals must disclose any financial interest or relationship with a company that produces, markets, resells, or distributes ophthalmic products/devices/drugs or services related to patient clinical care or lack thereof.
