Cohort 5 Call for Applications
Chain Reaction Innovations (CRI)
CRI’s call for applications to Cohort 5 encourages innovations in sustainable energy production and use and in materials and process innovations that can leverage the expertise and tools at Argonne National Laboratory. Application responsiveness is judged based on the fit with Argonne’s resources and expertise, technology potential, and innovator merit. Areas of note that are responsive to this call include but are not limited to: grid-level energy storage, transportation charging infrastructure, vehicle-to-grid integration, solutions to decarbonize heat, electrical system resiliency, industrial system electrification, building efficiency, reuse and life cycle extension of critical power sector materials including those found in batteries, heavy duty transportation decarbonization, conversion of waste to valuable materials, and plastics recycling. Additionally, concepts that integrate or leverage AI and machine learning as tools for innovations are encouraged. CRI continues to encourage and seek innovations in advanced materials and manufacturing that support the advancement of sustainable energy.
