Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at 12:10 PM–12:35 PM BST
Zoom - 2
Conference or Developers' Day

Conference (20 minutes + 5 min Q/A)

Session Abstract

In 2019, East Tennessee State University presented at ELUNA a solution on automated new book displays for use on our website, guides, and digital displays utilizing data from Alma Analytics. The topic of marketing collections continues to be of interest to our community. For 2020, we have expanded our scope by incorporating Alma Collections to display curated book collections for current event topics. This updated presentation will give participants a high-level overview of the workflow and tools used to create the displays. Section one of the presentation will highlight the Alma Analytics process in defining collection scopes and required data fields. Section two will discuss the process of retrieving data via the API and formatting the data into a JSON array. The last section will cover the implementation of slider widgets and the use of book covers.
