Peer Event: Collaboration in Youth Philanthropy: Models of Collaboration Across Generations

Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 5:30 PM–9:30 PM CDT
Skyway A/B (Second Floor)
Session Description

Come engage with other youth philanthropists and adult grantmakers from the Grantmakers for Effective Organizations Network! Together, we will learn more about examples of collaboration from families, nonprofits, & foundations- while also hearing how these examples support youth (lifting up the next gen), participatory grantmaking, & having a lot of fun!  Whether you are a grantmaker wanting to see collaboration in action or a youth philanthropist seeking to learn or make impact with your grants--this complementary event will enhance your philanthropy!  Leave knowing other grantmakers across generations, examples of collaboration to infuse into your work, and with insights from the leaders of  today and tomorrow across philanthropy!

This complementary event is for youth engaged in philanthropy ages 12-21 and adults who support them and attendees at the GEO Conference. You do not need to be a GEO member to attend (while all conference attendees are welcome). Youth (and the adults who support them) can be engaged (or excited to be engaged) in philanthropy through a local nonprofit, their family or family foundation, or a community foundation.
