Session Abstract

Inferring what to read from the courses a user studies, the resources they engage with but also the resources their peers engage with and recommend is a difficult challenge to solve.

At Lancaster University we are always looking at ways to deliver new and innovative services that our students want and Suggest4.me is no different. The service we are piloting and looking to deliver, has been shaped by the ideas of students asking us if this is possible and the discussions we've had with them.

In this session we'll go back to the beginning and look at where this idea came from, the initial ideas from our students and how we developed this into something we could pilot. We'll look at how Alma and Leganto have shaped how we make suggestions, delegate control and configuration to academic staff and allow us to better understand resource engagement. Finally we'll discuss some of the initial thoughts and feedback, both positive and negative, from staff and students across the institution.
