Learning Objectives

1. Provide a summary of relevant court cases 2. the methodology of our analysis, and what we discovered. 3. We will introduce a framework to develop best practices in increasing visibility of copyright policies to users in order to impress upon them the importance of maintaining compliance with the United States Copyright Act.

Abstract

The University of Houston has undertaken a project to examine copyright policies across ARL libraries and determine the visibility and accessibility of these policies to stakeholders. Our analysis will focus on finding ease of these policies, how substantial they are, and what type of guidance they provide to the user.
